Friends of St Teresa’s

Dear Parents,

Details of the Christmas Craft Fair can be found below:

We would like to introduce you to the newly established Friends of St Teresa’s Association founded on September 29th 2014. The group consists of parents and the wider school community working together to:

  • raise funds to help the school provide “extras” for the pupils,
  • run social events for parents and children and the wider school community and parish,
  • provide support for school trips, outings and other special events.

At this year’s Annual General Meeting the following committee officers were elected:

  • Mrs Sharon McKee – Chairperson
  • Mrs Joanne Lewis – Vice-Chairperson
  • Mr Gary Copeland- Secretary
  • Mrs Joanne McCloskey – Treasurer

This year the Friends of St Teresa’s Association will be raising funds to purchase Accelerated Reading Programme.

The cost of installation of Accelerated Reading would be approximately £5000! However we feel that this would significantly improve the Reading  experiences of all the children in the school. So this year we need YOUR help by supporting the Friends of St Teresa’s events throughout the year. At the same time it’s a great opportunity to get to know others in our school community.

If you would like to get involved in the FoST association then please email me at the address below to become a committee member. Alternatively if you would only be able to offer help during events but do not want to attend meetings, again please let me know, all support is very welcome!

Additionally if you run a business and would like to sponsor a prize for the ballot at all events, please also get in touch! I would like to thank all those who have already supported FoST and a special thanks to the committee members who have worked so hard already to live out the school motto Deeds Not Words’

NEXT EVENT: Christmas Fair on Sunday 26th November from 1.00-4.00pm.

Friends of St teresa’s Christmas Craft Fair

As advent approaches and the season of Christmas draws near, school life will become very busy. We look forward to celebrating this time of year with you all. The Friends of St Teresa’s Association (FoST) will host their annual ‘Christmas Craft Fair’on Sunday 26th November from 12:00pm-4:00pm. Again it will be hosted in the newly developed school canteen. There will be over 40 stalls, games for children, an opportunity to meet Santa and his elves, and much much more.  We promise that you will scoop up great bargains, ideal gifts for Christmas and at the same time enjoy carols from the school choir and even get a special visit from some of the Disney characters! Please support this event in our school not only to raise much needed funds for the school but to reward the FoST team for all their hard-work in preparing this event.

There will also be some great prizes on offer that night as part of the raffle, here is an example of some of the prizes to be had:

  • 42” TV
  • £100 blue hire voucher (tidy your garden equipment)
  • £40 Grosvenor Meats voucher
  • Selection of goods from Boyne Valley Foods
  • £30 Harleys voucher
  • Happy Feet treatment

Each child will be sent home with a book of ballots to sell early next week. There are 5 ballots in a book at £1.00 each. Please return all ballots and money to your child’s class teacher by Friday 24th November in preparation for the draw on Sunday 26th November at the Fair. Could you please return any unsold ballots to school on the same date. Thank you again for your support!

Thank you to all those who supported the FoST Halloween Disco which raised an amazing £860.00. I would like to thank once again the hard work and dedication of the FoST Committee and volunteers who helped organise this very successful event.
